False Friends
False friends are pairs of words or phrases in two languages or dialects (or letters in two alphabets) that look or sound similar, but differ significantly in meaning.
Task
1) Look up 5 false friends (English - Spanish)
2) Post the five words with their real meaning and the word in Spanish that may create confusion.
Eg.
English Spanish
Carpet (alfombra) Carpeta
See you next time!

Re: False Friends
They are all very nice false friends. Well done, good job! I just have one comment on one of Ana's words. "Arm" can also mean weapon in English, so it's not really a friend. For a word to be a false friend, it needs to have a completely different meaning than the wordd in the other language. If it has a secondary meaning or a similar meaning, then it's not considered a false friend anymore. Other than that, very well done.
